Itinerary from 28 de Noviembre to Calafate or vice versa
Every day during the journey, we set off around midday and the trip
lasts around five hours. |

Day 1: : we start at the dressage site of 28 de Noviembre called “El relincho” towards Punta Gruesa.

Punta Gruesa camp (after 3 and a half hours or 4 of slow trot) rural camp, look out point of the Small and Chilean mountain range.

Day 2: : optional if your time allows you: a day of demonstration of races and gathering of wild horses on this camp. Otherwise we go to puesto (post) called “6” of estancia Cancha Carrera.
Center of the Small mountain range. Place particularly inhabited by lots of condors and guanacos. Settling of camp.

Day 3: departure towards estancia Esperanza , with look out points in Argentine-Chilean mountain range called “Los baguales”. Lodge in the sheepshearer’s house.

Day 4: : options: 1) Fuentes del Coile hotel (you can stay in this place, typical countryside hotel- the price of the hotel is not included-); 2) Puesto “La calle” of estancia Esperanza. Here you camp.

Day 5: arrival at the spectacular estancia Lucila, with its look out points of the high peaks. You will visit a typical Patagonian estancia founded by the Riquez family. At present, this place belongs to the descendants of the family

Day 6: puesto Viscacha of estancia Tapiaike . Camp on the banks of Viscacha river. On this river, you will be able to enjoy trout fishing, an impressive activity.

Day 7: arrival at estancia Viscacha, founded by the former inhabitant Ricardo Fernández, at present owned by his descendants

Day 8: : arrival at puesto of estancia 25 de mayo. We are now within Calafate jurisdiction. Along this journey we will enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Andes mountain range, on the border with Chile.
This area is characterized by the abrupt climatic changes. You can have an intensive hot day and snow storms on the same day. Said area is at 1,800 meters above the sea level.

Day 9: arrival at the fields of estancia Huyliche, where we will camp at the banks of Centinela river, that flows into the Argentine Lake fed by Perito Moreno Glacier and its eternal snow falls.

Day 10: we set off from estancia Huyliche, during this journey you will have the chance of appreciating estancia ANITA, famous for being the cemetery of the strikers of the year 1921.
Arrival at Colonia Familiar Lago Rico inn, owned by Esteban Echevarría, descendant of one of the first settlers of Calafate.
On a camp or in a cabin- the price of the cabin is not included. From this inn you can admire the magnificent Argentine Lake, Calafate and Buenos Aires Hills and estancia Los Ventisqueros on the way to Perito Moreno Glacier. Here ends the ride 60 km from Calafate, where a transfer will take you back to said city.
